Scarpa re-designed the house to accommodate three people in 2004-2005.

The Committee on the Environment of the American Institute of Architects named the Brooks-Scarpa House one of its Top Ten Green Buildings of 2006.

The house originally contained 450 square feet and was altered in 1934 with the addition of 600 square feet; work in 1997 created 650 more square feet of space. Lawrence Scarpa renovated the house in 2004-2005, adding 1,150 square feet at that time.
