The City of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board considered the nomination of this bottling plant at its meeting, 06/18/ 2008.

Graham and Painter designed this bottling plant with Coca Cola's in-house designer, the Atlanta architect, Jesse M. Shelton; the plant, located in the Squire Park tract of First Hill, was last used by Qwest as a service, parking, and warehouse facility. In late 2007, Seattle University purchased it, and nominated it to be a Seattle City Landmark on 06/18/2008. On 01/07/2009, the City of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board heard a request for extension by the building's owners on the controls and incentives portion of the landmarking process.

Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen did a feasibility study on the Coca Cola Bottling Plant for Seattle University in 05/2008.
