The mosaic over the entrance was executed by the Northwest painter, Mark Tobey (1890-1976).

Remodeled in 1966-1967 by Seattle architecture firm, Nelsen, Sabin and Verey; the Playhouse Theatre was completely remodeled in 2007-2008 by LMN Architects of Seattle, WA. Aside from its brick walls, little of its historic character remained after this reconstruction work.
