Building Notes
Parapetic, Ohio-born architect Robert C. Reamer (1873-1938) designed over 25 structures in Yellowstone National Park, both grand and utlitarian, but the Old Faithful Inn was his first; it set an important precedent for rustic hotel design in the U.S. National Park System.
Reamer referred to the Old Faithful Inn on project blueprints as the "Old Faithful Tavern." (See Ruth Quinn, Weaver of Dreams: The Life and Architecture of Robert C. Reamer, [Gardiner, MT: Leslie and Ruth Quinn, 2004], p. 11.)
