Building History

Unbuilt.

The frenetic architect Elmer H. Fisher designed this office block for Scottish-born engneer/businessman James Murray Colman (1832-1906) just before the disastrous Seattle Fire of 06/06/1889. According to historian Dotty DeCoster, writing in HistoryLink.org: "An artist’s rendering of this frame building is on display (in 2008) in the Colman Building lobby at 811 1st Avenue." (See Dotty DeCoster, HistoryLink.org, "Colman Building (Seattle)," posted 07/27/2008, accessed 08/01/2018.)
