The Los Angeles architectural firm of Gogerty and Weyl designed a group of shops and studios for silent cowboy film star Fred Clifton Thomson (1890-1928) and his wife, the journalist and screenwriter, Frances Marion (1888-1973). Thomson made 24 silent films before his life was cut short by tetanus; she wrote 54 screenplays and had four husbands.
