Overview

The Hotel Stockton, designed by the architect Edgar B. Brown (1869-1925), was Stockton's leading luxury hotel of the early twentieth century and was one of the most elaborate examples of the Mission Revival Style. A very large and prominent landmark, it stood across the street from the equally prominent San Joaquin County Courthouse (1891) designed by the MI architect, Elijah E. Myers (1832-1909). The Hotel Stockton operated from 1910 until 1960.

Building History

The Hotel Stockton replaced the Tin House and Weber Baths that stood on the site previously.

Building Notes

The Hotel Stockton accommodated Stockton's City Hall from the 1910s until 1926.
