This house, built for farmer George Washington Patterson, his wife Clara, and their sons Henry and William, was one of the imposing in Fremont at the turn of the century; the house currently sits on over 200 acres that make up the Ardenwood Historic Farm, a property managed by the East Bay Regional Park District; tel: 510-791-4196 (2004)

Additions to the farmhouse were made in 1889 and 1913; Architects Page and Turnbull of San Francisco, CA, supervised a renovation of the farmhouse when it became a local history museum;
