Historian David Naylor indicated that Balch and Stanbery designed the Fox Riverside Theatre with L.A. Smith.

When it opened in 1929, the Fox Riverside could accommodate 1,900 moviegoers.

Clifford Balch designed a 540-seat theatre within the stage house of the Fox Riverside Theatre in 1941, also designed by Balch and Stanbery.
