In early plans released in 05/2004, an 800-foot-long pedestrian spine would join the LACMA Annex (the former May Company store) to a series of new and existing museum structures to the east; two new facilities would be added, the three-story, 80,000-square-foot Eli Broad Contemporary Art Museum and a 20,000-square-foot entry pavilion located on Ogden Drive; existing gallery spaces would remain, although they would be wrapped in fabric to provide visual unity;
