Building History

San Francisco architect Donald Powers Smith was one of 10 architectural firms invited to present a design in the second phase of the Corregidor-Bataan Memorial Competition of 1956. The first phase was open to any competitor. Smith worked with the San Francisco-based structural engineer Isadore Thompson, geodesic dome designer Roger Youngs and architectural designers Andrew Tagliafico and Anthony Perrinello. Their entry was not selected.
