Building History

In 1891, W.C. Ramsey operated the Stockton Business College and Normal School in Downtown Stockton, CA. According to an 1891 advertisement, it provided a "full business course, through actual business, shorthand and typewriting, preparatory, special and teacher's course. The school occupies two entire buildings and its leading feature is its home influence. Excellent board $10 per month. Board, room and tuition by the year, $18.75 per month. Twelve regular teachers and over 600 students for the year. Good gymnasium." (See Langley's San Francisco directory for the year commencing 1891, Educational Department, p. 33.) According to this advertisement of 1891, the Stockton Business College and Normal School also operated a branch in Fresno, CA.
