The hotel originally opened as a Quality Inn and Hotel, but became a Holiday Inn-affiliated hotel.

A new building permit was issued by the City of Seattle on 09/27/1999. The hotel was completed the next year.

In 2021, the Holiday Inn Seattle was owned by Rainier Hospitality LLC.
