Overview

This facility provided the ice needed to preserve fruit as it was being transported by rail from Santa Barbara orchards and fields to their commercial destinations across the US.

Building Notes

The Southern Pacific Ice-Packing Station stood near the intersection of Santa Barbara Street and the Southern Pacific tracks.
