Building History

The Nordic Building, a four-story, brick-faced commercial block, was erected in 1904. It was used originally as a manufacturing building and as a cold-storage warehouse.

In 1908, the Rubber Manufacturing and Distributing Company, distributor for the Apsley Rubber Company, occupied space in the building at 550 1st Avenue South. (See Advertisement for the Rubber Manufacturing and Distributing Company, Pacific Fisherman Annual Review, vol. 6, p. 57.)

In 2020, the building owner was Redco Occidental 547. Redco Occidental 547 purchased the building for $8,750,000 on 07/30/2019 from the Nordic Cold Storage Company, Incorporated.
