Building Notes

Designed by designer Robert Byrd, this six-bedroom, eleven-bath house, occupied three acres in the gated Hidden Hills community of Los Angeles. Arrayed on two floors, the house had a combined family room-kitchen, with a fireplace and exposed roof framing. The house also contained a game room, exercise room, a wine-tasting room lined in stone. Byrd's design also contained two master bedroom suites, each with soaring, open-framed ceilings, a maid's room and an indoor racquetball court. Other structures distributed on the property included a horse corral, swimming pool and a guest house with one bedroom. The house appeared on the market with an asking price of $2,995,000 in 12/1987. (See "6-bedroom home features an indoor racquetball court," Los Angeles Times, 12/20/1987, pt. V, p. E1.)
