Building History

This $80,000 apartment building was announced in the Seattle Daily Times on 03/23/1923, to be designed by the local architect John A. Creutzer (1873-1929). It stated: "The building will be of frame construction and brick veneer, trimmed with terra cotta. The thirty-three two, three and four-room apartments are to be finished in ivory and will have oak floors and tile baths. The lobby of the building will be finished in mahogany. The building will occupy a ground area of 80 by 103 feet. Excavation for the new structure has been completed and bids for the general contract are to be called for soon by H. Riernertsen, 5903 Fremont Ave., the owner. It is expected to start work this month." (See "Plans New Apartment," Seattle Daily Times, 03/10/1923, p. 14.)
