The Larronde Block stood on the northwest corner of North Spring Street and West 1st Street from at least 1882 until 1898.

Overview

The trapezodal Larronde Block was a two-floor, Italianate building with storefronts on its first story, and offices above. In 1898, it had a grocery and grain store as its largest tenant on the first floor.

Building History

In 1921, the courthouse area of Downtown Los Angeles had two "Larronde Buildings." This building was located on the northwest corner of North Spring Street and 1st Street (101 North Spring Street / 203-211 West 1st Street), and a second at 128-134 North Spring Street at the intersection with Court Street.
