Overview

According to the Crocker-Langley Company's San Francisco City Directory of 1907, this 14-story tower housing the Metropolis Trust and Savings Bank was set to be ccompleted by 01/1908. Its previous headquarters stood at 1237 Van Ness Avenue following the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. In 1907, A.A. Watkins was the Metropolis Trust and Savings Bank's President, Clarence Grange, its Vice-President and Manager, and John M. Keith and A.D. Cutler, also Vice-Presidents.
