This freight house functioned as a warehouse for the Northern Pacific until c. 1981. It was sold, along with the nearby Northern Pacific Railway Depot #4, by the Burlington Northern Railroad, to the Yakima Valley Rail and Steam Museum Association in 1993 for use as a railroad museum.
