Lawyer George Edwards commissioned local builder, A.H. Broad, to design this two-floor Queen Anne residence for him in 1886. Both Edwards and Broad served in local city government as members of the city's Board of Trustees.

Local builders Coreris, Hunt and Akin transported the house from its original site to a parcel one to the west in 2001. They elevated it above parking and added another building to its east.
