Roos Brothers was a high-quality, San Francisco-based, men's clothing store, that built this new branch store in Sacramento, CA, in 1946. According to William Roos, grandson of the firm's owner: "My grandfather sold Roos Bros. to a man named Ed Gower who also purchased the Atikins department store chain and then combined the two before selling the Roos Atkins chain to GENESCO in the late '70s."
