Building History

Local landowner Leslie Coombs Brand (1859–1925), allowed the Los Angeles regional interurban Pacific Electric Railway to lay rails on his property, what grew into the Brand Avenue commercial district. Tracks were completed in 1904, and with transit to Downtown Los Angeles greatly simplified, Glendale grew rapidly as a suburb.

Building Notes

The Pacific Electric Depot Railway Depot on Brand Boulevard had the look and feel of a bungalow, with its long spreading roof lines and ashlar chimney and battered porch supports.
