This adobe residence for Luis Maria Peralta date c. 1800 and was the last remaining building of CA's first municipality, Pueblo de San Jose de Guadalupe, formed 11/29/1777. In 1976, it was a single-story, adobe-walled building with tamped-earth floors. Portions of the dwelling at that time were covered by a wooden lean-to (on the east), corrugated metal (west), plastic sheeting (south) to protect it from erosion. (See William J. Murtagh, National Register of Historic Places, Washington, DC: US Department of the Interior, National Park Service, 1976)], p. 75.)
