The Schuster Group commissioned the construction of the 67,000-square-foot, 100-room apartment building, Muriel's Landing, which opened during the second week of November 2012. At the beginning, a 378-square-foot studio carried a rental price of $1001.00 per month. A one-bedroom apartment with between 447-482 square feet, ranged in cost from $1200.00 to $1425.00.
This apartment building, catering to students at the UW amongst others, was one of several erected around the city in the last months of 2011, that signaled the construction industry's comeback following the real estate collapse of 2008.
