The 1895 Los Angeles City Directory indicated that the Southern Hotel was located at 1448 1/2 San Fernando Road.

Building History

David Harrison Clinton, a transplant from MO, came to the City of Los Angeles in 1888 and bought the Southern Hotel immediately thereafter. The Southern Hotel was in operation in 1895. (See Los Angeles, California, City Directory, 1895, p. 1597.)
