Building History

This town was also known as "Kennet," the first spelling of its name. The city vanished when it was submerged by the reservoir created by the Shasta Dam, built 1937-1945. In its prime, Kennett was one of the largest copper mining towns of Shasta County, CA.

The depot was lost when the city was submerged.
