Dr. Robert Phillips McReynolds commissioned the Los Angeles architect Robert Farquhar (1872-1967) to design this house at #18 Berkeley Square.

Farquhar created a Mediterranean Revival Style house with very interesting wrought iron work on the front facade; the glass arch over the entryway was especially decorative. The building's exterior had plaster walls and a hipped roof, covered with Spanish tile.
