G.Z. Brown and Mark DeKay wrote of the Central Lincoln Public Utilities District Office Building in 2001: "The Central Lincoln PUD office building in Newport, Oregon, designed by Moreland/Unruh/Smith, is daylit from the exterior sides and through a central atrium covered by a south-facing clerestory. The electric lighting system includes user-controlled task lights at each desk and indirect fluorescent lights suspended from the ceiling in rows running parallel to the windows and the atrium. The fluorescent lights are dimmer-controlled, so that they automatically adjust to available exterior illumination and maintain the minimum desirable ambient light level of 30 foot-candles (323 lux)."
