According to Paula Lloyd of the Fresno Bee, San Francisco, CA-based Owl Drug operated two drug stores in Fresno, CA's Downtown area in the mid-1900s, one at this location, the other at Fulton Street and Tulare Street. Both stores were managed by the same pharmacist, R.W. Cafferata. At one time, Owl Drug had 118 stores, mostly in CA.
