Building History

Adolph Spreckels (1857-1924), the second son (of two) of the sugar tycoon, Claus Spreckels (1828-1908), lived here with his wife, Alma de Bretteville Spreckels (1881–1968), with their first child, Alma Emma (born 1909). They moved to a new residence built in the posh Pacific Heights Neighborhood in 1913.
