This duplex, designed by Cynthia Richardson, contained two 3-bedroom units each with 1,325 square feet. Kitchens and baths were located back to back on the first floor and to cut plumbing costs; the lower baths and kitchens shared plumbing stacks with the full-baths and laundry rooms oneach unit's second floor. Each had a combined living/dining room/kitchen on the first floor. Larry Killinger Construction erected the residences which were offered fro sale at $42,500 each in 12/1971. This duplex was the first ever selected to be a Seattle Times House of the Week; visitors could tour the duplex on the afternoon of 12/26/1971.

This boxy, 2-story duplex adhered to rigid symmetry. The whole duplex formed a U-shaped plan about an entry court. Projecting ahead of the main entries, symmetrical stairways protruded, as did another wing projecting forward containing garages on the first floor, bedrooms on the second. Vertical siding emphasized the duplex's height, not the narrowness of its 50-foot by 75-foot lot.
