Building History

This facility, partly financed by the Carnegie Corporation with matching funds by the City of Aberdeen was first approved by ordinance in 1902. It took several years to raise cash and to pass Carnegie's stringent matching requirements for grant money. Aberdeen received $15,000 for construction from Carnegie on 01/18/1907. (See Wikipedia.com, "List of Carnegie libraries in Washington," accessed 09/30/2009.)

Demolition
