The University Vision Clinic has occupied space in the University Professional Building since 1958. The Lobe Family owned the building during the 1990s-2000s. Optometrist Mark R. Hovander, who operated the University Vision Clinic, has owned the building since 08/15/2011. Hovander worked with his father, Charles Hovander, a contact lens specialist.

This two-story, wood-frame medical-dental office building has housed various medical professionals since 1954, containing 9,984 square feet, 8,000 net. It occupied a 12,360-square-foot site. The University Professional Building had an assessed valuation of $1,422,400 in 2009, and was owned by UPB Medical LLC. In 2012, the building had an assessed tax value of $1,422,400; unlikely many properties in Seattle, this office building saw no loss of appraised value following the real estate crash of 2008.
