McCormick Lumber Company of Portland, OR, bought this plant along with Puget Mill's plant in Port Gamble and the entire company town there for $15 million in 1925. Efforts to renovate and upgrade the facilities caused the eventual bankruptcy of Charles McCormick by 1938; Puget Mill Company recovered the property due to his default.
