The Filipino Community Center, Incoroporated, purchased the Empire Bowl facility in 1965 for $65,000. A $2 million renovation project provided the center with a new facade, ballroom and wing; this project concluded in 2008. The center received some money from the City of Seattle's innovative Neighborhood Matching Fund program develeoped in 1988.
