Land rights activists were angered in 07/2008 when the National Park Service indicated that it was terminating leases on the 26 cabins located in the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. These cabins, built in the 1950s, were leased in 2008 for $4,500 per year for five year terms. What would replace the cabins, if anything, was not clear.
