University of Washington architecture and landscape architecture professors, Daniel Winterbottom, Roxanne Hamilton, Jim Ncholls nad Nihon Trong led student workers in designing and building a garden on the Fircrest School's 84-acre campus in 2004. In 2007-2008, Winterbottom with assistance of students from the UW Landscape Architecture Department's Therapeutic Garden Design Certificate Program, undertook Colorsplash! Therapy Playground at the Fircrest School.
