Developed during the First World War, March Field has been used by the U.S Army Air Service and its successors until the present.

This Spanish Colonial theatre, serving March Field, opened in the early 1930s.

It was utilized as the first March Field Museum between 1980-1981. Its square footage was rapidly filled and a second facility--the former commissary--was secured for the museum in 1981.
