Overview

This four-story hotel was located near the University of Washington, located on the southeast corner of Roosevelt Way and NE 42nd Street.

Building History

Shortly after it was completed in 1962, the University Inn had 42 guest rooms some of which were equipped with kitchenettes. The hotel had a first-floor coffee shop and swimming pool in 1962, as well as on-site parking for guests. The Seattle World;s Fair of 1962, no doubt, prompted the construction of the University Inn,

Nootka Hotels, Incorporated, sold the property on 10/08/2008 to University Inn, LLC, for $21,654,600. By 11/06/2015, a new owner, Dream Legacy Pru Spe LLC, controlled the University Inn.

The University Inn became part of the Staypineapple Hotel chain, a company based in Bellevue, WA. In 2020, there were 10 hotels in the Staypineapple chain, with outlets in Boston, MA, (1), Chicago, IL, (1), New York, NY, (1), Portland, OR, (1), San Diego, CA, (1), San Francisco, CA, (1), and Seattle, WA, (4).
