Building History

The architectural firm of Cummings and Martenson and Associates designed this church building in 1968. A Seattle Post-Intelligencer illustration of the church had the caption: "A contract to start immediate construction of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Kirkland has been awarded to Puget Sound Builders, Bothell. Completion is due in June. Topography of the 2-acre site at the southeast corner of 4th St. and 15th Ave. makes possible a two-level structure. Chumings [sic] and Martenson and Associates are architects." (See "Kirkland First Church of Christ, Scientist," Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 01/28/1968, p. 34.)
