This was celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's first large restaurant success in Los Angeles, CA. Spago Hollywood closed in 03/2001. In 2005, Puck and his partners ran 12 up-scale restaurants located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Palo Alto and Maui; he and his associates also controlled 51 Wolfgang Puck-branded casual dining and rapid-turnover restaurants in malls, airports and supermarkets across the U.S.

The plan of this restaurant oriented around its open kitchen, was innovative and influential in U.S. restaurant design during the 1980s. Swifty Lazar, the legendary Hollywood talent agent, hosted post-Oscar Award parties at Spago (later known as Spago Hollywood) until his death in 1994.

Demolished.
