Building History

John H. Christie, the Company Architect of the Southern Pacific Railroad, designed this station and the second one in Palo Alto. The former opened in 12/1935. Both have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Alteration

A full-scale renovation occurred in the early 1990s and was completed in 1994. The renewed station was renamed for the longtime advocate of mass transit, Santa Clara County Supervisor, Rod Diridon, Sr., (born 02/08/1939).
