Overview

Prominent Northwest Regional Modern architect Paul Hayden Kirk (1914-1995) designed this residence for two physicians working for the Group Health Medical Cooperative, Robert Pelzel (born c. 1924-d. 07/15/2016) and Jane B. Pelzel (born c. 1925-d. 02/16/1994), for a hilltop site on Mercer Island with panoramic views of Mount Rainier, Seattle, and Lake Washington. It stood nearby to the residence of architect Gerald C. Pomeroy (1927-2012) and and wife, Peggy (born 1930), a nurse, on the southwestern end of Mercer Island.

This house contained 2,700 square feet.

Demolition

A McMansion was built in its place in c. 2002.
