The Lakewood Center Mall was bounded by Del Amo Boulevard on the south, Lakewood Boulevard on the west, Candlewood Street on the north, and Clark Avenue on the east.

In 2008, Macerich owned the Lakewood Center Mall; at the time, it was one of the largest shopping mall owners in the U.S., possessing 73 malls in 19 states. Macerich owned 19 shopping complexes in CA, 3 in WA, and 2 in OR. Investors, Mace Siegel and Richard Cohen, started the MaceRich Real Estate Company in New York, NY, in 1964; it became a publically-traded company in 1994.

This early-1950s shopping-center turned mall contained 2,093,006 square feet, making it one of the U.S.'s largest malls measured by gross leasable area.
