Gervais and Connie Reed participated with others in founding the Hilltop residential cooperative in Bellevue, WA, during the early 1950s. Dr. Reed (d. 2007) worked as a Professor at the University of Washington, as did other Hilltop founders, including the architect, Wendell Lovett (b. 1922). (Reed taught art history.) Dr. and Mrs. Reed lived here between 1955-2007, when he passed away; Connie Reed continued to reside here until 2012. When she vacated the dwelling, it remained in its original condition, a rarity among mid-century residences. New owners, Patrick and Courtney Stanton, purchased the house in 12/2012.

The Gervais and Connie Reed House was put up for sale for the first time at an asking price of $689,000 in 10/2012. This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, possessed 2,010 square feet when it was offered in 2012.
