Named for the City of Los Angeles's Chief Engineer, William Mulholland, construction began on this dam in 1923 and ended in 12/1924; it is located in Weid Canyon.

As of 2009, the Mulholland Dam was 210 feet high, 933 feet long and 16 feet in width at its top; the reservoir descended 183 feet at its deepest point.

Following the rupture of the Saint Francis Dam in 1928, efforts to bolster the original 172,000 yards of concrete that composed the Mulholland Dam occurred c. 1933; tons of soil was added to the dam's downstream face.
