"Contacted by phone, [Peter] Steinbrueck confirmed rumors that he's mulling over the race. He said he's trying to reconcile his commitment to the city with family responsibilities. (He and his wife, attorney Marilyn Taylor, have two young sons, Mason, 4, and Benjamin, 1.) But there's no doubt that Steinbrueck has the right name for the race. His dad, the late Victor Steinbrueck, led the successful 1971 campaign to save the Pike Place Public Market from demolition. Peter Steinbrueck, too, qualifies as a market savior. In the 1980s, he led the crusade to rescue the market from a group of New York investors who had staked a claim to the farmers' market. Steinbrueck said he'll decide soon on entering the mayoral race. The linchpin: 'I have to see if my wife will go along.'"
