"In 1907 came our first experience with a branch library property of our own. Mr. Carnegie had given a building to Ballard, and when the town was annexed to Seattle [1907] the building a d books were turned over to us. After many changes and repairs, this very inadequate structure is still doing duty as the Ballard branch, although the walls are beginning to bulge with the pressure of books and borrowers."
