Philip Daniel spoke at a workshop held at the 98th Annual Convention of the American Institute of Architects in Denver, CO, in 1966 on the issue of systems of construction; ""Philip J. daniel AIA, of Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall (one of the architectural firms involved in the SCSD [School Construction Systems Development] project from its inception), stressed the work totality [emphasis] in discussing the practicing architect's approach to the systems concept. 'It is a tool,' he stated, for insuring that all relevant factors...are properly taken into account at the right time to make the outcome a success."
